Police services in the south of Britian have been keeping data captured using number plate recognition cameras for more than 4 years.

Originally intended only to be used in the lead-up to the London Olympics of 2012, the technology is still reading number plates.

Mal Fletcher briefly discusses the privacy and data security implications with the BBC's Arts Edtior Will Gompertz.
